Defect Analysis and Process Optimization of the Gas Blowhole in Cylinder Head Castings

Abstract：In view of the situation of air hole defect in cylinder head casting process with whole core vertical casting process, the causes of the defects in the casting were analyzed and the process verification was carried out. The results show that by adjusting the exhaust system of the outer die and optimizing the coating, the porosity defect of the casting is solved successfully, and the castings reject rate is reduced.
