Abstract:
Pumping unit crank casting is a long and thick casting,traditionally cast by using side and lower position gating.This may result in curved arch deformation and also up-section carbon defect.After changing pouring system to step gating at the end of casting,deformation and carbon defects were overcome.According to proportional solidification theory,using lost foam mold cavity as gating,poring system was extremely simplified,not only pattern yield increased to 97%,casting quality is improved as well.
