Abstract：The surface hardness and section hardness of D-grade steel CK-36 train wheel are much higher than the requirements of international railway standards. The surface and section hardness of the wheel can meet the requirements by controlling the carbon/manganese composition, adding chromium/molybdenum alloy, increasing amount of waterjet for quenching, reducing the size of the quenching water cover and preventing its eccentricity.
