Abstract：The structure and technical requirements of diesel engine piston skirt casting were introduced. According to the complexity of the structure and technical requirements, the difficulties were analyzed. In the casting process design, the selection of chemical composition of piston skirt casting, spheroidization and inoculation treatment of molten iron were studied. The results show that the process improvement scheme is feasible and qualified castings are produced.
