Abstract：The structure of side frame casting is complex,and shrinkage cavity and porosity are easy to appear in production.The casting process of the side frame was numerically simulated by AnyCasting simulation software.The casting process was optimized according to the simulation results,and the production verification was carried out according to the optimized casting process.The results show that the side frame castings in trial production meet the standard requirements by ultrasonic inspection and anatomical examination
