Abstract：Due to the limitation of parting,the thick hot spot was easy to appear at the non-parting surface,and the waste products would appear because of the lack of effective feeding.Taking high voltage switch shell casting as an example,the causes of shrinkage and looseness were discussed through simulation analysis.The results show that the shrinkage defect can be solved by adding horizontal riser at isolated hot joint.
