Abstract：A special novel coated sand for casting steel was developed independently and its application effect was compared and studied. The results show that the cast steel coated sand is specially used for shell mold casting process, which can be cast naked without spraying, and can also be used for shell mold casting process, and can reduce the use of ceramic sand . The shell mold casting process can partially replace the investment casting process by using the coated sand. The use of the coated sand, not only has a good quality improvement effect and remarkable economic benefits, but also has a good environmental protection
