Abstract:
To obtain the wear-resistant end material of a bimetallic wear-resistant hammer with excellent comprehensive performance, the effects of the composition (carbon content and chromium content) and heat treatment process (quenching temperature and tempering temperature) on the mechanical properties of high chromium cast iron were studied by the orthogonal experimental method. The results show that the effects of four factors on the mechanical properties of heat-treated high chromium cast iron are as follows: w(Cr)/%>tempering temperature>quenching temperature>w(C)/%. With the optimized composition (w(C)=2.8%, w(Cr)=20%) and heat treatment process in which the quenching temperature is 1 040 ℃ with heating for 2 h and air cooling and the tempering temperature is 250 ℃ with heating for 2 h and then air cooling, the hardness and the impact toughness α k reach 60.17 HRC and 9.88 J/cm 2 , respectively.
