Analysis and Preventive Measures of Shrinkage Defects in Wind Turbine Castings of Spheroidal Graphite Iron

Abstract：The reasons of shrinkage and porosity in ductile iron of wind turbine were analyzed from five aspects:the structure of casting itself,the quality of sand mould,the design of gating system,melting and pouring temperature.The preventive measures from chemical composition control,casting process control and smelting process control were put forward.The results show that the shrinkage defects are effectively avoided.
