Abstract:

Taking a typical MAX phase material Ti3AlC2 as raw material, MAX/Cu composites were prepared by the press-free sintering method of powder metallurgy with 500 MPa pressure and 1 h sintering time at 800, 900, 1 000, 1 100 and 1 200 , respectively. The microstructure and properties of MAX/Cu composites at different sintering temperatures were investigated by testing the microstructure, electrical conductivity and microhardness of the samples. The results show that the optimum sintering temperature of press-free sintering is 1 100 , and the composite with the best comprehensive properties can be obtained, with hardness, density and conductivity reaching 330 HV, 99.5% and 4.6 mS/m, respectively.
